Hello everyone.  As a photographer, it is your job to come up with inventive ideas to make your clients photos as unique as they can be.  The process of ‘idea inventing’ can be a long one.  Sometimes something you think is going to be so freaking awesome turns out to be totally ridiculous…and vise-versa.  This is why it is vital for every photographer to have a guinea pig.  Someone you can try out all your ideas on and they don’t care if they turn out awesome or let’s just say…less than awesome.  I introduced you all to Cara a few posts back and her oh-so-adorable family.   Whenever I get together with Cara, whether it be for cow-shaped waffles or a photo session, I never stop laughing.  She cracks me up to no end and I am so lucky to have her as my guinea pig.   She recently found out that she is having a girl (YEAH!!!) so we got together to take the cutest photo for her to send out to family and friends…

After this photo was taken we walked down the block and got some frozen custard.  Talk about the perfect summer evening.  I’m so sad to even write it but Cara is leaving me  😦  and moving to Boston.  Cara has become one of my greatest friends and I’m so sad to see her go.  She’s been such a huge supporter of me and my ambitions and I just cannot thank her enough.  She is amazing!  I am definitely heading out east as soon as that little bundle of joy is born and there will be a lovely blog post all about it.  I made Gary (my boyfriend) promise he would take me out there for my birthday…and I’m holding him to it.  Happy Monday…

There really aren’t words to describe how much I love this family.  I met Cara a few years ago through the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  We started working on Dancing with Chicago Celebrities together (a fundraising event that Komen Chicago and Arthur Murray Dance Center put on together).  We were always locked up in my office working on god knows what and it was always such a blast.  Since then she has become a very good friend of mine and I am so glad I got the chance to get to know her.  I love her to death.  Last summer I met her little boy Murphy and her husband Shane.  We did some pictures out on the beach and had an awesome time.  Murphy is the cutest little guy and they are all just so much fun to be around.  Cara is now expecting her second baby…and a couple weeks ago we decided to do some baby bump/family photos.  I always love going to their house because they feed me pancakes and waffles and bacon!  I mean I can hardly call that work!  Anyways…here are some of the photos from the awesome and insanely fun day I spent with them…

Cara remembered this blue wall from when we took photos a YEAR ago.  Shane and I had a nice little laugh about that…

I’m pretty sure there is nothing cuter than Murphy is his backwards, slightly crooked Boston hat…

We went up on the train platform, only to find out that it is illegal to take pictures up there.  So we did an excellent job of being inconspicuous and pretending to wait for the train.   That’s right…we were livin on the edge…

We’ve been trying to take this cupcake picture for a year now.  For some reason it never works out or we can’t find a cupcake.  After SEVERAL stops at bakeries looking for a cupcake with blue icing…we were able to check this off our list!

The picture on the left in Murphy’s dinosaur face…deep down he’s a big, scary dinosaur…

Cara and I decided to split a HUGE red velvet cupcake…but Murphy had other plans….

To some it up in a few words…this family ROCKS!  I can’t wait to meet their newest addition and I really can’t wait to photograph him/her.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.  And thanks to Cara for believing in me and helping me in SO many ways.   And thanks to Shane and Murphy for always being the best subjects!  I hope these photos give you guys a little piece of home when you get to Boston…

I know I’m a day late…but I just wanted to say Happy Mother’s day to all the amazing mothers I’ve had the chance to meet since I started this venture.   I feel so lucky to know them all!  They’ve so generously let me into their lives to document their most precious moments.  You are all amazing and I still don’t know how you do it!  You all definitely deserve this day!

And also to my own mother…who deserves this day more than ever for raising 2 awesome (if I don’t say so myself) kids who I think are turning out pretty well!  😉  My mom was the mom who never let me out of the house in the morning without some sort of breakfast because “I needed to food to make my brain work!”  🙂  And even when I was 18 she was still putting little “I love you” notes in my lunchbox.  Thanks mom…for being the best mom I could ever ask for!

You all may remember Murphy from one of my first posts on my blog.  He is such a fun little man and I absolutely adore taking photos of him!  Well…since that post some months ago…there has been another addition to the Belvin family.  SO…Cara and I decided to get together and do some baby bump pics.  So here is sneak peek of the photos I am currently working on.  LOVE this family!!!  Enjoy!
