A while back I took family photos of Maureen and her family.   It is still to this day one of my favorite sessions.  I couldn’t get over the bright, beautiful blue eyes they all had (a photographer’s dream).   Well…now take Maureen’s family and multiply it by 5 and you’ll get the session I’m blogging about today.  Maureen and her sisters planned this AMAZING birthday party for their mom (Mary).  It was the perfect night and the perfect setting and it couldn’t have turned out better.   This family was so much fun to photograph and I’m so happy I got to be there to document this picturesque evening.  So here’s a sneak peek…

This is Mary (the birthday girl) and her grandson Mack…

And then finally…the whole Smithe clan…they are one good looking family….

That’s all I’ve got for now…but there will be MANY more to come…stay tuned….

Last week I put up a sneak peak of the Macks…I had mentioned in that post how incredibly hard these photos were to edit.  I have been working on them non stop and I am just now finished!  This is definitely going to be the biggest post…image wise…I’ve ever posted.  So get ready!  🙂

Mallory (the mom in the photos) and I have been friends for a VERY long time.  She is a big part of some of my favorite memories…and I feel so lucky that I got the chance to photograph her family.  It’s so bizarre when I stop to think about it…because when you’re younger you talk to your girlfriends about what your wedding is going to look like and what you’re going to name your kids.  You sit around at sleepovers and plan out your soon to be perfect life….and now…years later…here I am documenting what we used to sit around and day dream about.  I’m going through these photos and looking at her picture perfect (no pun intended) family and her freakin’ adorable little boy and I just can’t help but smile.  The inevitable has come and we are grown ups.  And our picture perfect lives are unfolding in front of us.  So…here is picture proof of what used to seem so far away….Enjoy!

He had the cutest little crooked smile.  He’s gonna be a heart-breaker…

Are they not the cutest father-son duo ever!

There was a giant doughnut in the middle of this park…enough said!  🙂

So in love…

We found this little mini-village and there was a jail.  So cute…

Kids and ice cream….a dynamic duo.

So there they are!   All 24905802345209485 of them!  😉  Hopefully now you can understand why it was so hard to edit these…have a good one!

There really aren’t words to describe how much I love this family.  I met Cara a few years ago through the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  We started working on Dancing with Chicago Celebrities together (a fundraising event that Komen Chicago and Arthur Murray Dance Center put on together).  We were always locked up in my office working on god knows what and it was always such a blast.  Since then she has become a very good friend of mine and I am so glad I got the chance to get to know her.  I love her to death.  Last summer I met her little boy Murphy and her husband Shane.  We did some pictures out on the beach and had an awesome time.  Murphy is the cutest little guy and they are all just so much fun to be around.  Cara is now expecting her second baby…and a couple weeks ago we decided to do some baby bump/family photos.  I always love going to their house because they feed me pancakes and waffles and bacon!  I mean I can hardly call that work!  Anyways…here are some of the photos from the awesome and insanely fun day I spent with them…

Cara remembered this blue wall from when we took photos a YEAR ago.  Shane and I had a nice little laugh about that…

I’m pretty sure there is nothing cuter than Murphy is his backwards, slightly crooked Boston hat…

We went up on the train platform, only to find out that it is illegal to take pictures up there.  So we did an excellent job of being inconspicuous and pretending to wait for the train.   That’s right…we were livin on the edge…

We’ve been trying to take this cupcake picture for a year now.  For some reason it never works out or we can’t find a cupcake.  After SEVERAL stops at bakeries looking for a cupcake with blue icing…we were able to check this off our list!

The picture on the left in Murphy’s dinosaur face…deep down he’s a big, scary dinosaur…

Cara and I decided to split a HUGE red velvet cupcake…but Murphy had other plans….

To some it up in a few words…this family ROCKS!  I can’t wait to meet their newest addition and I really can’t wait to photograph him/her.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.  And thanks to Cara for believing in me and helping me in SO many ways.   And thanks to Shane and Murphy for always being the best subjects!  I hope these photos give you guys a little piece of home when you get to Boston…

I just stumbled across this as I was going through all my “lost” photos.  This is my little cousin (she’s not quite this little anymore)…so I thought I would share it with you all.  There is just something so cute about how tiny babies are.

And…I also wanted to say thanks to my cousin (who’s really more like my big sister, and this adorable baby’s mom) for bringing out in me what I’m now positive is what I’m meant to be doing.  When I was still in school she was having me photograph her kids every chance we got.  And any time her friends needed pictures she was referring me left and right.  She always told me this is what I should be doing so it’s only appropriate for me to give her little shout out.  She let me use her family as guinea pigs and most definitely help me get to where I am today…
